About Us

Who We Are

Operation Net began as a yearlong fundraising initiative spearheaded by Kali Fairchild all due to a two week mission trip to Uganda in 2008. Originally, the goal was to raise enough money send one-thousand mosquito nets for the people of Uganda. This goal was quickly reached and surpassed well within one year. Shortly after Kali began fundraising, Greg Pittman—a short-term missionary to Uganda—joined in Kali’s initiative to prevent malaria. Greg became highly involved with Operation Net and eventually founded it as an official non-profit NGO in 2009. Kali and Greg met on a combined mission trip to Uganda during the summer of 2008. Upon their return, both Kali and Greg were so moved by their experiences and passionate for the people of Uganda, that they were driven to help those in need. Each of their personal convictions and passions is what has brought Operation Net to where it is today. Both have hearts eager to serve, passion for preventing malaria and saving lives, and dreams and aspirations to have a lasting impact in the world.

Today, Operation Net continues to serve the people of Uganda as well as the people of Haiti (through the partnership of Willet Missions and Food for the Hungry). Together, Founders Kali Fairchild and Greg Pittman, with the help of supporters, continue to fight against malaria and bring nets to Ugandans and Haitians.

Mosquito Nets?

Mosquito nets are a vital tool in preventing the spread of malaria. The money that Operation Net raises is sent directly to our correspondents “on the ground” in Uganda and Haiti. Pastor Bob-Gad in Uganda, and the Plasiers in Haiti. Kali and I met Bob-Gad while on our mission trip to Uganda, and the Plasiers found us thanks to the help of our supporters in spreading the word, and God for blessing our efforts. Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease, and mosquito nets are a key step in controlling the disease. Together we can make a difference… we can save lives!

How to Help?

For only $9.50, a mosquito net can be purchased and used in the fight against Malaria. This may seem like a small amount, but most Ugandans live on only $1 a day. To them $10 is a tremendous amount of money. By donating money to Operation Net, you can help a fellow friend in Uganda live. Ever thought there was no way you could ever help solve problems Africa? Well you can, and Operation Net will allow you to do just that! Tell your friends, family, work, church, school etc, about Operation Net and get them involved! Operation Net not only provides ways for individuals to make a difference but we also have Business Sponsorship Packages as well!

We have the power, money, and wisdom to stop this disease and it is up to us to do so! Bono says our generation is going to be known for three things; the war on terrorism, the technological world, and what we did or didn't do to help put the fire out in Africa. I say, in 30 years I want to be able to say I did my best to help those who are suffering in Africa, and made a difference in the world.
